See & Do
From the great indoors of our Victorian market hall to the great outdoors of The Wrekin Forest, there’s plenty to do in and around the town if you know where to look. You could live the Edwardian high-life at the National Trust’s Sunnycroft, take in a cricket match on the edge of the town, or climb The Wrekin for breath-taking views of a dozen counties. A short hop from Wellington you’ll find sheep racing at Hoo Farm and a recreated Roman Villa at Wroxeter, along with the RAF Museum at Cosford and the beautiful towns of Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and Much Wenlock – all within twenty minutes’ drive. And you could avoid the car altogether by exploring the area on two feet or two wheels, aided by an excellent series of walking and cycling guides from community group Wellington LA21.
